Product Releases & Access to New Features
We are continuously improving LabHQ to deliver new functionality, usability enhancements and performance improvements.
To give organizations flexibility over how new functionality is introduced, each organization can choose one of two release options from the Admin Settings.
Latest Features (Default)
Latest is the default release option for all new organizations.
With this option enabled, new functionality becomes available as soon as it has been fully developed and tested. This allows your organization to benefit from new capabilities, improvements and enhancements without waiting for the next quarterly release.
Ahead of each quarterly release, we publish an updated product roadmap outlining the functionality planned for inclusion in upcoming releases. A detailed change summary is also published when each quarterly release is issued. See Change Summaries.
Quarterly Releases
Organizations that require a more structured approach to change management can choose the Quarterly Releases option.
Under this option, new functionality remains disabled until the next quarterly release, allowing your organization to review, validate and adopt changes on a fixed quarterly schedule.
This approach is often preferred by organizations operating within regulated environments where internal review, validation or change control activities are required before adopting new functionality.

Which release option is used by default?
New organizations are automatically enrolled in the latest features option. This means that new functionality will be available to your organization as soon as it is ready.
Are quarterly releases suitable for regulated labs?
Yes, the quarterly release track is designed for organizations that prefer a predictable release schedule and may need to review or validate new functionality before it is adopted by users.
Many regulated labs choose this approach as part of their internal change processes.
Are the latest features in beta or preview?
No, these features are not beta, preview or experimental functionality.
They are fully developed and tested features that are available to users before being enabled for all organizations through a quarterly release.
Can I switch to quarterly releases?
Yes, you can move to quarterly releases at any time by altering your release settings under the Admin Settings in LabHQ.
Future functionality will then be made available through the quarterly release cycle.
