Welcome to the public roadmap for LabHQ.

This page outlines what we're actively building and what's planned for the upcoming quarters.

Available Now: 2026 Q2

Q2 focuses on improving traceability, certificate management and day-to-day lab workflows.

Certificate Management & Reporting

We're introducing the ability to preview custom report templates during upload, making it easier to check report changes before use.

External users will also be able to bulk download sample certificates from the LabHQ Portal.

Sample Tracking & Traceability

We're continuing to improve sample traceability through the lifecycle with:

• Sample storage locations
• Product attachments that can be accessed directly from the workflow
• Expanded sample label data fields including client, reference, due date and location information

Workflow & Compliance

Several enhancements will provide greater control over lab processes and data governance:

• Configure a local timezone for your organisation
• Prevent modification of job and sample details after approval
• Separate edit and publish permissions for static data management

Stock Management

Stock management will receive several usablity improvements:

• Automatic removal of stock batches once the quantity reaches zero
• Support for decimal stock quantities

User Experience Improvements

A number of enhancements are focused on making LabHQ easier to use:

• Modernized job and sample viewers, with additional filtering
• Increased character limits for names and batch numbers

We're continuing to focus on improving efficiency, user adoption and collaboration between labs and their customers.

Barcode Scanning & Sample Tracking

Support for sample barcodes and scanning will make it easier to identify, locate and track samples throughout the lifecycle, helping labs improve traceability and reduce manual effort.

Improved Job Submission Experience

We're improving the job submission process in the main application to provide a more guided, step-by-step workflow. Users will be able to complete all required job and sample information, including custom fields, before submitting.

Enhanced Portal Collaboration

We're expanding portal capabilities to improve collaboration between labs and their customers. External users will be able to access approved attachments directly from the portal, receive notifications when new files become available and labs will have greater control over which documents are shared.

Sample Rejection

New sample rejection capabilities will provide greater control over the final decision process, allowing labs to formally reject unsuitable samples and maintain a clear audit trail of decisions.

Easier User Adoption & Training

New guided onboarding experiences will help users get started faster, reducing training time and making it easier for organizations to introduce new team members to the platform.

In-App Help & Guidance

We're introducing contextual help throughout the application, providing users with relevant guidance and information exactly where they need it.

Certificate Management & Reporting

A brand new certificate management area will provide a central location for generating, managing and downloading certificates. Users will be able to:

• Generate certificates for different clients
• Select which test outputs appear on certificates
• Export certificates to Word (.docx) format for further editing
