Welcome to the public roadmap for LabHQ.

This page outlines what we're actively building and what's planned for the upcoming quarters.

Available Now: 2026 Q3

Q3 focuses on improving sample traceability, guided workflows, user adoption and collaboration between labs and their customers.

Barcode Scanning & Sample Tracking

Sample labels can now include barcodes, data matrix codes or QR codes, with predefined label formats making configuration easier. Scanning a label can take users directly to the relevant sample details, helping labs identify and track physical samples throughout the lifecycle.

Improved Job Submission Experience

Users can opt in to a new guided, step-by-step job submission experience. The updated workflow supports job and sample custom fields, test selection and a final review before submission.

Enhanced Portal Collaboration

External users can now view and download approved job and sample attachments from the LabHQ Portal. Labs control which files are shared, and external users can receive email notifications when new attachments become available.

Certificate Management & Reporting

A central certificate management area now provides a single location for previewing, generating, managing and downloading certificates. Users can:

• Generate certificates for different clients
• Select which test outputs appear on each certificate
• Download sample certificates for a job together
• Export certificates and workbooks to Word (.docx) when enabled

Stock Tracking & Locations

Stock records now receive a unique, searchable Stock ID to make individual batches easier to identify and track. Physical storage locations can also be recorded and updated against stock batches.

In-App Help & Guidance

We've introduced contextual help across key areas of LabHQ. Users can open the relevant documentation directly from the application.

Interactive tutorials are now available for test methods, test suites and products. These guides help LIMS administrators understand how to configure test methods, test suites, products and specifications when they first access each setup area.

Clearer Navigation & Guidance

System settings have been reorganized to make configuration options easier to find. E-signature prompts now explain the required credentials more clearly, while updated maintenance and error pages provide clearer information when LabHQ is unavailable.

Coming Up: 2026 Q4

Q4 will focus on helping users get started, making administration more efficient and providing more flexible certificate and data-export tools.

Sample Rejection

Users can record an Approved or Rejected disposition when completing a sample. Changes to dispositions include a recorded reason and audit trail, providing clearer control over the final decision process.

Guided Onboarding Experiences

New users will receive clearer guidance from their first invitation onwards. Optional tutorials will introduce LabHQ, explain the main concepts and guide users through an example sample lifecycle without affecting live workflows.

We're also planning industry-specific starter data and prompts for walkthroughs covering test methods, test suites and product setup.

Improved Account Verification

Account invitation emails will explain more clearly why a user has been invited and identify the organization they are joining.

User Permission Management

Administrators will be able to apply a permission set to multiple users, making it faster to configure consistent access without updating every account individually.

AI-Assisted Certificate Template Conversion

We're developing an assisted process for converting an existing certificate into a LabHQ-compatible report template. LabHQ will suggest supported data tags for recognised information while allowing users to review the proposed mappings before using the template.

Configurable Sample Data Exports

Users will be able to generate CSV exports with one row per sample or replicate. Sample custom fields and selected test outputs can be presented as separate columns, with exports created from selected jobs or a date range.
