Editing Jobs & Samples
Editing Jobs & Samples After Approval
To protect data integrity, editing of jobs and samples can be restricted once they have been approved in the lifecycle. When this setting is enabled, approved records become read-only and cannot be modified unless approval is reverted first.
Configuration
An administrator can control this setting at an organizational level.
To configure this setting:
- Go to Administration > Settings.
- Locate the setting 'Prevent editing Jobs/Samples following approval'.
- Turn the setting on or off as required.
- Off (Default): Jobs and samples can be edited at any time.
- On: Approved jobs and samples cannot be edited.
Editing After Approval
If changes are required to an approved job or sample:
- Revert approval of the sample or one of the samples in the job.
- Make the necessary updates.
- Re-approve the record.
Once re-approved, editing will again be restricted.
What is Affected?
The restriction applies only to core job and sample details. The following actions are still allowed, even after approval:
- Adding or editing attachments
- Managing sample investigations
- Updating stock usage on tests
