Subscriptions & Feature Access
This guide explains which features are available in each LabHQ subscription tier, how feature limits work and how to upgrade your plan.
Overview of Subscription Tiers
LabHQ offers multiple subscription tiers designed to support different lab sizes and needs.
Each tier varies by:
- Available features
- User limits
- Access to advanced modules and customization

How User Limits Work
The number of users you can add to your LabHQ organization depends on your subscription tier:
- Essentials: Up to 5 active users
- Growth: Up to 200 active users
- Advanced: Up to 200 active users
You can add or remove users at any time, up to the maximum allowed by your subscription.
Paid plans are billed based on the number of users you have requested.
What happens when you reach your user limit?
Once you reach the maximum number of active uses for your subscription, you won't be able to add additional users via the LabHQ app.
Existing users will continue to have access as normal.
If you're on the Essentials plan and need more than 5 users, you'll need to upgrade to a paid subscription to add additional users.
If you're on a Growth or Advanced plan and need more than 200 users, contact the LabHQ team to discuss your requirements.
Why Upgrade Your Subscription?
Upgrading your subscription gives you:
- Access to additional features
- App and reporting customization
- Access to advanced modules
How to Upgrade
Upgrades are currently handled by the LabHQ team.
To upgrade:
- Go to the LabHQ website and visit the Upgrade Plan page.
- Submit your request with your desired plan and/or number of users.
- The LabHQ team will review and confirm the change.
Once confirmed:
- Your plan will be updated.
- New features will be enabled.
- Billing will begin based on your chosen subscription tier.
What Happens if you Downgrade?
If you downgrade:
- You may lose access to certain features.
- Your price per user will change.
- Data created for features not included in the new subscription tier will become unavailable or read-only
