Importing Results

Import Results gives you the ability to upload a CSV file to automatically fill out the Enter Results screen.


To access Import Results Configuration, the user must have the Results Import → Configuration permission enabled.


Steps to Configure Results Import

  1. Select the Administration → More Settings menu item.
  2. Next to Result Import Configuration, click Configure.
  3. This page shows all equipment items and whether they have any mappings. Select one to create or update a mapping.
  4. The Edit screen is where you specify which CSV headers correspond to what data on the system:
    • The Column Mapping section is where you configure fields not specific to a single test method — the fields corresponding to Sample ID and Test Method Name.
  5. Click the Add Test Method Inputs button at the bottom of the screen to add a test method to map inputs from.
    • You can select from all published test methods and configure the inputs of their latest published version.
  6. In the newly added section:
    • Select a Test Method Input from the dropdown.
    • Click the New Entry button.
    • Enter the column name in the newly added input box.

If you need to remove an input or test method, click the triple dots (⋯) to the right-hand side (next to an input or the New Entry button), and click Delete.


ℹ️ Example

Suppose that you have the following CSV file:

tm_name,sample,result 1,another result
TM 001,1234567,14.01,123.44
TM 001,1234568,14.036,124.47
TM 001,1234569,14.056,125.54
TM 001,1234570,14.07,124.74
TM 002,1234567,14.08,122.48

You would configure Sample ID to be sample , Test Method Name to be tm_name , and add two test methods, TM 001 and TM 002.

Under both, you would configure the first input to be result 1 and the second another result .


Steps to Upload Results

To access Upload Results, the user must have the Lifecycle → Enter Results permission enabled.


  1. Under Lifecycle Enter Results, select any job, then click Upload Results on the bottom bar.
  2. Select the previously configured equipment item mapping from the dropdown.
  3. Upload the CSV file.
  4. Click the Upload button.
  5. Confirm that the successes / failures are as expected.
