Validation Environment

To support testing and compliance, we provide a dedicated validation environment for all LabHQ customers. The validation environment is a blank, non-production instance of LabHQ, meaning it does not contain your live production data and is intended solely for testing purposes.

Customers can use the validation environment to safely explore and validate upcoming features and changes before they are deployed to production. It is ideal for running test cases and internal validation processes.

Key benefits include:

  • Early preview of upcoming features.
    • Changes are deployed to the validation environment every two weeks, so you can see the changes before they are deployed to production at the end of every quarter.
  • Test features or configuration changes without impacting your production data.
  • Supports your internal validation process.

Access

Access to a validation environment is available to all organizations on the LabHQ Advanced subscription tier.

When you sign up to the Advanced tier, your organization will automatically receive both a production environment and a validation environment.

Access is not automatically enabled for every user in your organization. Please let us know which users require access to the validation environment and we will enable this for them.

Users do not need a separate set of login credentials for the validation environment.

Users can log in using the same credentials used for the production environment. If your user has access to more than one environment, you will be shown the available options during the login process and can select which environment you want to access.

Visual Indicator

To help you quickly identify which environment you are working in, the LabHQ app always displays the environment name in the header (production    or validation  ).

Switching Between Environments

If you have access to both production and validation, you can switch between them after logging in too.

To switch environment:

  1. Click the two arrows next to the organization name in the application header.
  2. The organization list will open.
  3. Select the environment you want to move to.

You will then be taken to the selected environment.

Deployment Schedule

Environment Deployment Frequency Description
Validation As soon as the change is available New features are previewed here.
Production Quarterly Stable features are deployed at quarter-end.

All updates to validation are finalized 30 days before the quarterly deployment to production to allow time for customer testing and feedback.

Uptime & Availability

The validation environment is provided for testing and validation activities. While it is not intended for production use, it is operated to the same availability and service standards as the production environment.

Planned maintenance activities will be communicated in advance where possible. Unplanned service interruptions may occur, although availability is expected to be consistent with the production service.

Users should continue to use the validation environment for testing, validation and pre-production activities only. Production data processing and business-critical operational workloads should be performed within the production environment.
